BIOGRAPHY
If you don`t know Sicbay yet, you certainly know bands this guys played
before! Nick Sakes, a man we all like since 1990 when he started to play
in Dazzling Killmen his uncompromising and loud music, or as a Collosamite`s
guitarplayer and singer (real importance of this band will be recognised
in years to come). Ed Rodriguez who also played in Colossamite, in grounbreaking
Gorge Trio (if you didn`t tasted them you don`t know what you are missing).
His fingers were on guitars on last few albums of Iceburn Collective,
do i have to say more. Or Dave Erb, bass player who played in 3 Way Grady
and Walking Octopus, bends of real importance for local Minneapolis scene.
If you know this guys, than you also know that you will, this time again,
get something different then you expected. One of the possible answers
is - Menice in pleasant package.
Or as somebody on learning curve records said: Sicbay plays that brand
of rock that is unknown to common man. Bring two guitars and drums, they
will shake your inner sanctum. With a sound that drives and flutters,
Sicbay will force you to look inside your self and make you realize that
you might not like what you find. Precision work and aggressive thunder
Sicbay will blow you away. They have been known to rock so hard they shake
drinks off of tables.
They released split 7" with Zulu As Kono, Vaz... And off course did
cdep "Fort Bussy Signal" for our label. Expect their full lenght
sometimes soon on Obtouse Mule.

JULLANDER
John Symmes' Welt (cd)
After
a couple of 7" and one 10", Jullander finally arrive
to a full length.
Musically, John Symmes Welt consists of four equal,
but distinct voices that complement each other and yet allow each other
to be heard. You can sense that the people here have made an agreement
and set off on a common path.
With two guitars, a bass and drums, Jochen Brandt, Arne Kittler, Andi
Schoon and Jens-Rainer Berg conceive and mold their songs, with occasional
support on saxophone by Philip Andernach.
Jullander play beautiful music that is perfectly aware of itself.
Their calmer pieces with strange melody lines can remind you sometimes
on Dianogah or Couch, others, somewhat bulkyer brings to
mind June of 44 or Paul Newman, but don't even think that
this is enough to describe their sound.
Their sound is really their own - unique melodies, stylish singing, jazz
skillfulness and pop qualities you shouldn't miss.
